In April 2010, Girish founded Aveshka, Inc. with a mission to support the safety and protection of the homeland, particularly important after the events of 9/11. Prior to launching Aveshka, Girish co-founded two large government professional services firms – Advanced Technology, Inc. (supporting President Reagan’s 600 ship initiatives) and Integic Corporation, (JV with Xerox Corporation) a provider of technology-based healthcare and IT management. It was after the sale of Integic in 2005, with a three year non-compete and the marriage of his eldest daughter, Girish had time to think about what was next and the result was Aveshka.
During the 1980s and 1990s, the government contracting industry was predominantly driven by the defense industrial complex. The events of 9/11 profoundly altered Girish’s thinking about the mission of the new company and he felt the need to focus almost exclusively on the internal challenges of the United States.
As Girish developed the plans for Aveshka, he knew he wanted to surround himself with people he had worked with at the previous companies, ensuring that the initial management team were individuals with whom he had strong, professional relationships and trust.
With over four decades of executive experience, an inimitable ability to manage volatile business cycles and an extensive network of outstanding personnel, Girish has guided Aveshka to become a highly-reputable firm in the homeland security, emergency management and public health areas. The strong, experienced team of professionals and Aveshka’s work in support of public health has uniquely positioned the firm to support the COVID-19 challenges that exist today. In addition, Girish has understood, and envisioned, that Aveshka would focus on forward-leaning challenges for our country, and for that reason, has capitalized on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) technologies. Girish will continue to steer Aveshka into evolving areas of public health and COVID-19 response work, as well as implement innovative technologies that respond to cyber supply chain management requirements.
Outside of work, Girish stays busy with his wife Indu, their family, (including twin grandchildren) and a large community of friends.
