Carissa Nee is a communications and marketing professional serving entities in the government, private, and non-profit sectors.
Carissa brings high-energy, creativity, and a critical design eye as Aveshka’s Director of Communications and Marketing. She leads its internal and external communications activities to include employee communications and public relations activities. Her priority is to revamp and manage the firm’s brand, online, and social media presence to increase awareness of Aveshka’s services and capabilities to a diverse portfolio of customers. Also, a freelance graphic artist, Carissa’s design aesthetic has made its way into Aveshka’s more recent products.
Prior to Aveshka, Carissa held numerous leadership positions developing strategic communications campaigns and growing large government IT programs affiliated with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO); the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA); and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). She also worked for several non-profit organizations in the Washington, DC area.
Carissa earned a master’s degree in Strategic Communications from American University in Washington, DC, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She enjoys good food and wine, is obsessed with her Peloton, and loves coaching her kids in field hockey and running her children to and from sports practices. Carissa currently resides with her husband and their three children in McLean, Virginia.
